Etymology

From Greek τρόπος (tropos, “turn, manner, habit”) + -clast (“breaker”) + -ics (“field of study or science”).

Literally: “the science of breaking habits.”

tropoclastics (usually uncountable)

  1. The science or systematic study of breaking habits, e.g. routines, or entrenched patterns of behavior.
  2. A theoretical or practical discipline concerned with identifying, disrupting, & replacing habitual actions.
